Chadwick
You guys all missed a good time if you didn't show up. We met up at the last gas station before Potosi and got into Dumont about 6:15 AM Those dunes looked beautiful with the sunrise coming over the top of them. We unloaded quickly and started up the bikes and cruised out. By 6:30 we were shredding some sand. The dunes were untouched and technical. Combined with both sharp razors and soft sand we kept it slower than normal. Had to be careful as there were some nasty drop offs that couldn't be seen until you were right on top of them. We rode out to the parked for about 1 minute to catch our breath then headed back the other direction. While getting some pics of Pete jumping his bike I noticed that his bike had gotten a whole lot louder for some reason. It was then that Pete noticed that the can from his pipe had fallen off into the sand. He put it back on and we headed back to the truck where he rigged it up with a cargo strap. So out we headed for a couple of more runs through the sand. As the day was getting later we really had to tame it down because the sun was extremely bright and made it very difficult to see. There were a couple of times I was glad that Pete was leading cause I couldn't see a damn thing. :ahhhhh: About 10:30 or 11:00 AM duners started showing up for the night drags. We went on one more run and then packed it up and headed home. It was a great sand fix and I hope it will last until the start of next season. Pete has some pics on his camera's and I'm sure he will be loading them up very soon.

aceisback
What's up with that SandPig of yours Nick? I've got everything a man could possibly need for one of them! Six of them in the garage so I could always pull a part for you... Sounds like a fun trip for all involved. Had entertained thoughts of making it up but had to take the daughter to Pat Benatar last night. Priorities!!!
dunefreak
Hell yeah what a great sand fix. Those dunes were super technical to ride, but it sure was fun! As Chad said, not nearly as fast as our usual rides. I just love being out there though early in the morning in the middle of summer. The view of those smooth, untouched dunes with the sun coming up is just priceless. The temperatures were very bearable and the wind wasn't too bad. That breeze kept things cool. It was about 72 when we pulled in about 6AM and it was still only 95 when we left at 1PM. There were a few gusts that got annoying, but they let up and it wasn't too bad. There was only one other truck out there when we got there and then a few started pulling in late morning. Yeah that damn pipe busted right off after the first jump. Good thing I had a ratchet strap. haha poor Raptor. That thing is beat down but she still goes and goes! Can't believe I've been riding that thing nonstop and hard as hell since 03! Oh yeah...Chad got stung by a bee right in the tittie! Damn, those things were all over out there. Wassup with that? Sand and some sage and that's about it. What are they doing out there? We killed about 3 of them at the truck. Chad, thanks for coming out bro. There aren't many people who will wake up before 4AM on a Saturday and drive a couple hours just to go tear it up for half a day's worth of good riding in the sand. It's too bad ISBB and a few others couldn't make it but we'll do another one soon! I took a ton of pics with both cameras. I'll post those up next. tatooedwhtboy
Wow, the riding looked great. I'm bummed that I couldn't make it out there with you guys. From your pictures the sand looks more technical than it was when I went out on Memorial Day. Looks like you guys had a blast. Glad to hear everyone is still in one piece. Jakster884
Great Pics as always. Those dunes are crazy to read once the Summer comes around let alone the winter. There is a glaze which covers the pot holes very well form the heat and can be very Dangerous. I guess this makes it just a little more thrilling. Glad you enjoyed and made it home with your Sand Fix.

Chadwick
Yeah the road it pretty bad right now but it always is in the summer I was expecting the road to be pretty bad as well but I was doing 50 MPH on it and it seemed pretty tame to me in my little Nissan Frontier...
