sand chick
I know I know I said the last trip was well the last trip But then we found out that Mike was going back to China for most of October So we would be missing our traditional first weekend of October Dumont trip opener. So off to Coral to get one last bit of sand under our tires until his return just before the crazy Halloween weekend. And you know it has been a GREAT weekend when your throttle thumb needs a massage We had a super small camp with some of the old group, kind of like a mini reunion. Lots of laughs and shananigans and we even made two nights turn into 3:00 in the morning bed times It was arrive and unload and lets go for a night ride!!! I even got a hike in on Saturday morning, and yes unlike Pete, I will trek 1.5 miles at 1700ft elevation gain in riding boots I had not been down to the Indian Pictographs yet and with my summer of hiking, I was going to log a trail that no one else had in my group. Well worth the trek down. Thank you again Mike and Adam for waiting for me at the top of the trail. I think these people have moved into the meadows permanantely not that I blame them, thats where I would live if I could Some pics
dunefreak
Great report and pics! My feet/legs would have been killing me on that hike in my boots. Maybe yours flex better than mine, but my tech 8's suck to hike in. lol That hike looks pretty cool.
sand chick
Thank you. In all honesty, it probably wasn't my best idea. my boots don't flex either, and some of the spots on the trail were sketchy with no traction. And I was rushing since the guys were waiting. But it was worth it.
Adam @ GTP Off Road
heck ya... it was fun. Riding with a few new people was good. Except for getting lost and following Jon around in the dark haveing no idea where we were. Loving my mods on the bike, power was good even at Coral, should be nice for the season at Dumont. I dented my wheel on the trip up for Jodi to go hiking.. wasn't too happy about that, but sh*t happens and it's still holding air. Found that great jump spot that Richie started on, that was fun, wish it looked bigger in the photos and video though. Mike even found a great Dune run line on Friday afternoon, man that was fun. still not used to the mess you get from all the dust up there. my bike and truck are NASTY dirty. I even had some dust in my intake this time. Maybe the K&N isn't such a good idea.
