sand chick
Yes yet another great weekend in the sand... but seriously if your in the sand, is it not a great weekend?? Lots of great runs. I always love those sunset runs from the back of comp, up and over and ending at the N Pole! Clean up had a good turn out, GREAT job to all who were involved in putting on yet another great clean up. Thank you for everyone who came out and helped pick up our beautiful playground! I always have fun and love doing my part volunteering and giving back to the place I love! Yes it was warm, but we managed to not run our AC at all, once that sun went down it was perfect for visiting by the campfire with a couple of sandy beers Had a couple of mishaps in our little group, nothing major and everyone went home safe and sound. BIG thanks to all of those that stopped to help when our friend broke his Rzr, every person who passed stopped to make sure we were ok. Love my new camera and its cool features! Spent my weekend riding Mike's Raptor... Time for an upgrade... AND the new baby comes home this weekend!!!!!!!! :headbang1: Anyone in the market for an 05 Honda 450r?? I love her greatly, but it was time to part our ways Missed those that were not there Nothing beats a weekend of sand, riding, great friends, laughing, campfires, and family!! Adam @ GTP Off Road
i was very dissappointed i wasn't able to make the cleanup and support FoDD and Terry. Would have loved to have been there to represent GTP but glad we were able to get some prizes in there for the cleanup effort. Hopefully next year i can make it happen. Glad things went well, and everyone made it out safe.
dunefreak
Thanks for the pics and reports, guys! Wish I could have made it out, but work got in the way. Really hoping to get at least a day trip in with the quad before the heat sets in.
Randog
Hope everyone had as good of a weekend as our group did. I didn't take many pics but did get some cool video with the GoPro. I need to get some editing software really bad. and really soon too. Whit, Ryder and I got in Thursday night. LouB and Vegas Style were chillin' by the fire already. On Friday, Ken, Joe and Family, Woods and Shana, Lindsay and Brooke all showed up. That was the extent of our camp. Was a small one this trip with only the three buggys. Thanks to everyone that participated in the clean-up and Thanks to the FODD and BLM for having the event. It's amazing how much trash is actually out there. When everyone is combing through the dunes and camp areas we sure come up with a bunch. First thing Friday morning LouB and I found this fire pit that needed some attention. . . . . Got that all cleaned up and it was time for some camp fun. Ryder has been getting so good on his quad. Imma proud dad foe schizzz. :B . . . . Ryder really digs on the buggy rides. . . . . We were all lovin' them smooth dunes. :driver: Took a break and got a couple phone pics. LouB . . . . PainterJoe . . . . All three of our buggys. . . . . Ken rippin'. I thought he was gonna run me over for a sec. but this sucker knows how to ride. . . . . I asked Joe which direction was it to Comp Hill. ( set him up on this one) . . . . Just Beautiful.. . . I'll get some video up soon. need that software. Got a buggy ride i with Babert and Jim. It was kinda broken up cuz I had an intake tube that kept popping off and I had to stop like 5 times. Sorry guys. The hill was perfectly smooth all weekend for some ------------>>>>> Thanks to everyone that made it such an awesome weekend. Good to see and hang out with some of my DDR peeps again. Mr.BrownSand
What a great weekend! I rolled in on Friday at dawn. I didn't get much time in this season, so the drive into the camp was a little hairy in the coach. I ended up parking near the first finger dune. Thats as far as I felt comfortable going in the dark. After a quick nap, and a invite to camp with VegasStyle, LouB, and Randog. I got setup and hit the sand. The new RMZ ran great on friday. Nice and smooth, jumps great, rides great, and flat get's it done. I rode it all day. As the sun was going down, I hauled it back to camp. No lights yet. Thats when I ran into Randy, Joe and Lou. I wanted to hang out and ride some more but only had time for the wheelie bye Randy. LoL! Pulled the bike in the trailer, and pulled out the lefty LTR for some night time fun. Saturday's plan was to, Hit some more sand in the AM, on the motor sickle (LoL, VegasStyle's name for it!) and then go help Ynot with the clean up.. No such luck. I spent an hour trying to get the RMZ to start. Totally forgot about helping out. Sorry Terry! Finally gave up and went on with the clean up. Pulled 3 bags of trash out of the camping areas north side.. I didn't find any half eaten cactus this year, thank god. That sh*t still hurts my hand when I think about it. I had some big fun, even if it was a working weekend. I had some homework to do for my next job, so I didn't do a lot of fireside drinking. But what I did do was good times. Thanks guys for letting me camp with you. Hopefully next season, I'll have some more free time to ride. KB
