superdave
its actually my dads tri-sport, more prerunner than a sandrail but works well. Also street legal in some states. It was $125,000, yeah its pricey but you get what you pay for, I'll post a couple more pictures. ISBB lets see your ride :monkeedance2: <-----this is me after ISBB posts his quad.... prerunner? hell, looks like it could be a competetive racer. EY3BA11
Superdave... Dunebuggy.com and revenge racing currently do race BITD in the Sportsman class.. there are quite a few of thier customers that buy them and take them straight to the desert w/ no other prepping other than a net.. chuckharris.. wtf is a TRI-Sport... chuckharrisjr
Thats what I said, street legal in some states makes it a tri-sport, unfortunately its not street legal in vegas, due to no fenders. chuckharrisjr
IT KILLS ME WHEN PEOPLE SAY YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I GUESS I GOT A PIECE OF CRAP TATUM BECAUSE I ONLY PAID 40K INSTEAD OF 125K? It kills me when people say you paid to much. I guess we got ripped off because we could have paid 40k for a tatum instead of 125k for an overpriced pre-runner thats race proven outa the box, and will work just fine in the dunes as well. Another thing, maybee you havent checked around lately but finding a tatum for 40k that is comparative to our car (one like travis has) is probably not going to happen, any tatum for that matter. Now, maybee you misunderstood me and think im calling a 40k rail a peice of crap, thats not the case at all. Ive seen alot of nice 40k rails, and theyre worth every penny of 40k, but theyre not worth 125k. Or are you saying you bought a 125k rail for 40k, if thats the case you bought your rail from a retard. Or did the person you bought your tatum from tell you its worth 125k but he'll let it go for 40k, in this case your a retard. Another thing, its not even mine its my fathers, I just drive it. EY3BA11
so what makes your 125k rail so special.. that it can be street legal... well in that case 99% of rails out there would be considered dual sport... or is it because your car can be driven like a pre-runner or race vehicle.. ok sure... so does tatum but for a helluva lot less... PLEASE fill me in why your 125k is soo much better than my 125k that i decided to use on a 40k rail thats JUST as capable... ohh wait i forgot i didnt buy it from DB.com
dunefreak
my 125k that i decided to use on a 40k rail eeehhhh? I'm confused, ISBB. You've got 125 grand in your pocket? Or did you buy a 40K car? WTF you talkin bout Willis? I don't know if you saw the pics, but I see every bit of 125K in that car. (or close to 125K I guess) Just my .02 B)

chuckharrisjr
Yeah the sites not updated yet dunefreak, here you go ISBB down to the dollar.... Sure some parts are marked up a bit, but they give you the option to bring in your own parts if you want, obviously you havent preran in to many cars, Brian Freemal a friend of mine raced a tatum car until he got sick of it breaking. I think a tatum is actually better than ours in the dunes, but not in the desert, which we primarily bought the car for. If you think the tatum car thats a helluvalot cheaper than ours can keep up or even go the distance we can go without breaking anything your nutz, Ill be more than happy to prove my point in the desert anytime with anyone. Those shock mounts on the bottom of the tatum a-arms will be sheered off in half a second.. ISBB Look at the parts list and tell me where theyre to expensive. 4 seat prerunner built by Dunebuggy.com for DuneBuggy.com | Parts manifest ›› Close this window Switch to printer-friendly view Part Description Quantity Installed Cost of Parts Alternator/Starters etc : High torque starter 1 $ 187 Axles/CV`S/Hubs : 934 Axle clip 4 $ 3.88 Axles/CV`S/Hubs : Leather CV boot, trans side 2 $ 169 Axles/CV`S/Hubs : 934 CV bolts 12 $ 60.8 Axles/CV`S/Hubs : 934.5 rear gear one hubs w/6-piston calipers 1 $ 2420 Axles/CV`S/Hubs : Leather outer CV boot, hub side 2 $ 81 Axles/CV`S/Hubs : 2-inch front hubs w/ 4-piston calipers 1 $ 715 Axles/CV`S/Hubs : T-bolt clamp, 5.75`` 2 $ 11 Axles/CV`S/Hubs : T-bolt clamp, 7`` 2 $ 12 Axles/CV`S/Hubs : Moly grease for cv`s bell ray 4 $ 77.72 Axles/CV`S/Hubs : Big Gear one Axles 2 $ 550 Axles/CV`S/Hubs : 2-in chromoly spindle nut, right hand 1 $ 77 Axles/CV`S/Hubs : Double CV Boot Flange 2 $ 187 Axles/CV`S/Hubs : 934.5 Super CV w/ 300M star 2 $ 550 Axles/CV`S/Hubs : 2-in chromoly spindle nut, left hand 1 $ 77 Axles/CV`S/Hubs : High angle CV boot 4 $ 132 Batteries : metal battery box 1 $ 41 Batteries : Odyssey 800-464 battery 1 $ 124 Body work : SideWinder Wind Shield 1 $ 385 Body work : Aluminum body for desert car 1 $ 8800 Body work : windshield visor 1 $ 99 Brakes/pedals : -3 brake light sender adapter 1 $ 9.72 Brakes/pedals : Turning Brakes 1 $ 111.25 Brakes/pedals : Throttle cable ball ends 2 $ 12.24 Brakes/pedals : Hook clamp for throttle cable 2 $ 15.5 Brakes/pedals : 37``long slave cyl brake line 1 $ 15.2 Brakes/pedals : 12.5`` long rear arm brake line 2 $ 34 Brakes/pedals : Standard brake line 10 $ 34.3 Brakes/pedals : Throttle cable, 12 foot 1 $ 27.06 Brakes/pedals : 10.5`` frame to front arm brake line 2 $ 25.04 Brakes/pedals : dual brk 3/4mc 1458 1 $ 239.75 Brakes/pedals : 13.5`` front arm to caliper brake line 2 $ 36 Brakes/pedals : Clutch pedal and slave kit 1 $ 147.8 Brakes/pedals : Dot 3 Brake fluid 1 quart 1 $ 27 Brakes/pedals : Brake light switch 1 $ 6.5 Brakes/pedals : Throttle pedal 1 $ 31.04 Cooling System : SideWinder radiator with 14 inch fans 1 $ 806 Cooling System : sandwich adptr 3/4 x16thrd 1 $ 23.32 Cooling System : Hose Clamps 1 $ 16 Cooling System : Radiator cap 24lbs 1 $ 24.31 Cooling System : Radiator coolant 2 $ 9.9 Cooling System : Radiator hoses 2 $ 57.52 Cooling System : Engine oil cooler w/ electric fan 1 $ 424.26 Electronic components : Hella Round Horn 1 $ 27 Electronic components : PCI 4 Link Pro Intercom 1 $ 352 Electronic components : Oil pressure warning switch 1 $ 6.39 Electronic components : jumper cable charge lug with cap 1 $ 27.85 Electronic components : High Res Color GPS 1 $ 1538 Electronic components : Complete Mil-spec wiring for entire car 1 $ 4400 Electronic components : Battery shut off switch 1 $ 28.89 Electronic components : ground cable 1 $ 6.06 Electronic components : Kenwood 110 watt 2-way race radio 1 $ 1430 Electronic components : Parker Pumper dual 2 $ 231 Engine : UMP 4-in. Don29palms
I remember my first jump in a LT rail. I was in Joe's Ricochet car. OH MY GOD that is what sold me on getting a LT car. We hit this jump and it felt like landing on a pillow. It was the coolest. At that point I knew I had to have one. My reply to my brother was that my wife was going to hate him. He asked me why and I said I was going to tell her Joe let me drive his car and now I got to have one. Fortunately my wife Shari is a very forgiving lady and she still loves my brother anyway. superdave
its pointless to compare a sand rail to a desert car. the desert shows no mercy. a sand rail is a toy, albeit an expensive one. but to be a competetive desert racer it takes a buttload of money.
