Svengoolie
Is anyone towing doubles to Dumont? I have a 1 ton towing a toyhauler and would like to tow my Jeep with a towbar at the end. I do have a CDL with the triple endorsement and valid medial card. Looked into it. Getting confused. Thanks all!
rushjunkie
There's gonna be 3 billion opinions on this. I looked into it awhile back and the only thing that I'm not sure about in your case is the flat-towed Jeep. If I remember correctly, all axles need working brakes. Of course, CA max 65' length needs to be observed (I'm assuming you're in NV because of the triples endorsement).

There are a few requirements, but if I can offer any experience/ advice, it is that most chippies have no idea what 65' looks like. The only ones that keep up on that stuff are commercial cops( usually the ones with the camper p/u's); and they usually have bigger fish to fry. That being said, I've heard of them setting up stings on the way to glamis, and popping guys with 3 axle fifth wheels withoiut the class A license...so to what degree you comply is your gamble... I'm running over length by about 4' overall, and over on the fifth wheel(first trailer), but that's just how I roll. So far so good
