dunefreak
I know it's been talked about before on here. What have you guys used to repair leaks in water tanks? I have a hole that has worn into the tank from the support brace that keeps it from shifting around. Not very happy right now!
fishlips
I used an epoxy with a piece of glass cloth that came with the kit. It worked for two weeks then seperated from the plastic tank. My hole is on the top seam so I think I'm leaving it. I thought about a plastic welder from harbour freight.
vegas style
my fix is going to be a new tank (or a new hauler) for the season I'm using a couple 55 gallon plastic barrels. i had some luck with a roofing patch ETERNABOND very sticky with a chemical reaction when worked. worked pretty good but still had a drip. ngoodey
Plastic welders such and don't work well in my experience. Fiberglass will fix it and is cheap.
goodguys75
I think a new tank is what is going to be the best...everything else is just temporary....and will eventually just fail....
dunefreak
That seems to be the consensus. Time to shell out even more hundreds of dollars! This sh*t is getting old.
FE135
Go to an RV store. They make stuff just for this task. You mix like epoxy and use it as a putty till it hardens. The repair I did on my tank was 13 years ago. Still solid.
dunefreak
I'll check with Johnnie Walkers. If they don't sell or recommend anything, they'll be the ones installing a new tank. I don't feel like messing with it.
fireride
I fought a leaking water tank for two seasons, it finally cost me a week long trip over New Years. I finally had to pony up the three hundred-ish and move on. Repairs are just band aids, only one real solution.
dunefreak
Luckily it's leaking at the front tank around the 3/4 level so I can get away with still using it in the meantime. After this trip I will have to bring it in for a new tank though.
nwtdiesel
Hey be happy its not the poop tank After this season I have to have the whole front of my toy hauler replaced. Its pulling apart and I found water damage. Oh well it will be nice for next season.
fishlips
my tank is leaking too. My solution is eternobond tape. The hole is at half full so if it drips i will catch it with a bucket and pour it back in. after i use 1/2 of the water no more leak. pulling ot the tanks is easy it only took me 20 min. by myself. dunefreak
I never even fixed this. haha It still leaks and I just deal with it dripping if I fill it up more than 3/4 full.
dunefreak
Update: brought it in to Johnny Walker's and they patched it up. Hopefully it holds for a while.

dunefreak
How is the patch holding? I've only been out with it once since the repair, but so far so good.
fishlips
I took another shot at the leak and seem to have got it this time. the eternobond tape really sticks good to the tank.
