dunefreak
We rolled in Thurs night and stayed through Sunday late afternoon. The dunes were really nice on Friday, got pretty choppy on Saturday but then the wind blew pretty good overnight making for some nice sand Sunday morning. It wasn't very crowded just like most New Years weekends at Dumont. The holiday crowd seemed split between weekends just like Halloween was. Some were rolling in as we were leaving. Friday night at comp was completely dead. We were the only group there other than one of small group of rzrs. Nothing wrong with that but it was odd to see. We got plenty of great buggy runs in as usual and I even got a chance to take the Raptor out Sunday morning for a couple rides. I went out for a nice solo run before everyone was up and then Adam from GTP, Garrett (ynot's grandson) his dad (rogers807) and I chased the buggies for a good run. The Saturday meet & greet was much larger than I expected to see. We were running a little late so when we rounded the dune to head out there I was amazed at the size of the group. I met a couple new faces but like most meet & greets, everyone seemed to stick to their own group and didn't make many introductions. I wish people were more outgoing. My car was acting up so I couldn't lead a ride but from what I hear sanddunesaddict lead a great one. South Pole meet/greet I think I am done for a while. This trip cost me quite a bit, not to mention over the last month I have done three 3 day weekends out there. It was a great trip and I wish we could have stayed through New Years Eve, but we had to get back to work. I had alot of fun with our crew. The one lesson of the weekend: DON'T PASS LOU! I'm getting a sticker made for his car- do not pass!

jordanhiggins2002
Im sad I missed the buggy meet up. Had to bug out early. Funny story I went to pete's camp about 10am and they were getting ready to go. Said about 30 mins so I went back to camp and took too long at my camp and they were gone so I went looking for them. I cruised over to back side of comp and buzzed the top and saw them leaving comp heading towards north pole kinda. So I tried to slide my car to immediately go over the razor back when I was pointing almost down already and got stuck at the top of comp. Hahaha got stuck bad. Needless to say it took me a long time to dig myself out.
702sandman
Lol WOW I'm wondering if Lou flips a lot of people off on the freeways also when people pass him ?? I for one love the rubbing elbows and tires and passing but I guess LOU doesn't ....some one needs to drive faster then had a fun ride Pete and my JB welded tranny is holding up great ...see you soon

It's not always about going as fast as possible. He just doesn't like surprises and likes to dune with people he can trust. It caught him off guard when you and Terry both did it. We usually don't pass each other so he peeled off. It was great to finally hook up when we both had our cars, Randy. It was a short but great run on Sunday. sanddunesaddict
Awesome weekend for sure. I burned 65 gallons of fuel while I was there and only left because I was out!! I was going to call into work today and stay but would have only had enough for yesterday afternoon and 1 ride this morning. Good company as always and enjoy seeing everyone out there. 2 weeks people MLK weekend!!!!
702sandman
Very tru pete.... Like terry said our cars have their own minds me and terry have been riding together since 1992 on banshees when it was part of the fun to pass and have a good time so for us we know how to watch the guy next to us but when its a person that's not familiar to us it would make them nervous.... so from me tell him sorry to catch him off guard lol I'll remember that when riding with new guys ...hope to ride with you again soon the dunes and weather are amazing I just wish you guys were still here to ride with us

I just snapped off pics with my point n shoot. Here are a handful.

nwtdiesel
Sounds awesome guys! I finally got my rotary running good and it is all ready to go now. Wiks built the carb and I had it tuned today. I found a couple fuel line fittings that were too small as well and replaced those. Running MUCH better now. Let me know when you guys are all going again and ill be there. MLK day is Jan 20th, what days will you be going Bert? Pete how long of a break are you taking? If you need anything let me know. dunefreak
Pete how long of a break are you taking? If you need anything let me know. I doubt I'll go back out with the car until maybe late Feb. I need take a break to recover for a while. These last few trips have been extremely expensive. I might do a day trip or weekend trip before then with just the quad if things work out.

dunefreak
Here's a quick video I put together from last weekend's Sunday morning ride. I decided to jump on the quad and chase the buggies this time instead of leading. The video doesn't do much justice, but I was literally full throttle everywhere we went. lol That poor Raptor had nothing left in her. One of these days I hope to upgrade to much more motor and suspension.

sand chick
Headed out on Monday afternoon to spend a week at the dunes for our annual Christmas trip. We spent our week relaxing for a couple of days, got in only three rides the whole week. But that's how it works when you are working at Vendor Row. Still had fun, but after a week, I was ready for home, a real shower and a real bed! We spent most of our time kicking back and playing with the dogs. So my action shots are dogs playing in camp.. LOL! Had a great time following Scott and Shelly on the Christmas rides! Scott leads a great line! Even got me up to the highest point of Dumont! Could have actually used a bigger turn out, it would have made for some busier days. Some pics from the week..

FE135
As usual, I'm always late posting pics. Here are a few from the gallery I just uploaded. Pete was nice enough to take a few of me. I usually don't have anything for myself so this is cool.
