JoeDuner
I just went to get my propane tanks re-filled and the super friendly refill engineer said it's a no go!!! My tanks have expired. Where do I get this done, preferably in the south part of town? Or, is it better to just buy new tanks? I'm pretty sure they are the 7.5 gallon tanks. dunefreak
Same thing happened to me with one of mine. They couldn't identify the date so they said no way. New tanks are about $90 each from Johnny Walker RV. The gas station/ propane guy said you can exchange them. My question is where.
sanddunesaddict
suburban propane will recertify them but they are out in northtown and I think its close to the cost of a new tank....
ngoodey
I got a guy here in pahrump that can re certify them and charges $7 if you fill them with him at the time.
bp-guy
Doesn't Home Depot have an exchange thingy there. We can do it here.

dunefreak
Mine were on my trailer when i bought it new in 06. I think the date is 05. The dude told me tbey need to be recertified every 12 years but one of my tanks doesn't have a date on it. He couldn't verify it so he wouldn't fill it. Vegas250rr
I have called on this recently as well... 25 to certify and 45 with a new valve at suburban.... but you can buy a new tank at HomeDepot for 62.47 + tax http://www.homedepot.com/p/Worthington-Pro-Grade-30-lb-Empty-Propane-Tank-303954/202034841 Edited January 4, 2015 by Vegas250rr
Lasvegas Atvtours
I just went to fill mine last night and the valves on one was leaking so I was only able to get one filled. Should be OK for this weekend running on a single tank. Looked them up and it's like $80 for a new tank at Home Depot. I guess they need to be replaced anyway, date on them is 2005.
