ltr450rider
http://www.sandsportssupershow.com/ So were about 6 weeks out. Anybody planning on making it out this year? Weddle Industries will have a booth again this year. We will actually be in a slightly new location, still in building 10, but we will move to the spot directly behind where we were the past few years (where RAW Motorsports was last year). It will be a bigger booth for us, which is good since we get pretty crowded in the other location. Don't be afraid to swing by and check out some new products, ask questions, shoot the sh*t, and grab a coozie and some swag!

I know some are still there, but the side x sides are so not my thing and they out-number the buggies big time since they are the trend now. They have taken over the SSSS. vegas style
why do you bag on sxs so much pete? i could understand rhino farm equipment but todays sxs are dune ripping machines as capable as many sand cars . or is it because we outnumber the cars now? i understand not going to the show but i almost feel the need to defend my choice of a sand toy
dunefreak
I wasn't bagging on them. They're just not my thing. They are a completely different machine from a sand car. Yes, today's side x sides can rip through the dunes much better than the old Rhinos, but they still aren't a sand car nor as capable on high speed runs. Are they still fun? Yes I'm sure they are. But I just can't get into them and the last time I was at the sand show it was lame IMO. Every RZR I see in the dunes is basically tapped out and floored everywhere they go. You can't compare the two. They are both fun in there own ways. Ever watch a RZR race up comp? -yawn-
Adam @ GTP Off Road
we just need to put turbos on more SxS. This 1k build we are doing is going to be a great example of the potential of both the RZR and our shop.
ltr450rider
$40,000 Rail = 20"+ wheel travel, comfortable for 4 adults, 400 horsepower, 80+ mph. $40,000 SxS = 15" wheel travel, Backseats?, 110 horsepower, 70 mph max (with one adult). Don't get me wrong, my next purchase will probably be a SxS, but my cap is also less than $15K. I don't have the means for storage and a hauler big enough to haul a full size rail around. I think today's SxS's are bad azz! But I also think it to be nuts to spend the same kind of money on a bunch of plastic over something with much more power and comfort. Fact is, the SxS market is huge. There are a lot of guys trading in their big high dollar family rails for a 4 seat RZR, and that's why the sand show mostly caters to that market these days. I still think there is plenty there for any rail owner to go and check out as far as more power or other upgrades. But a rail will never have the "bolt on" market that the SxS market has. lvnalolife
People buy the SXS because thats all you can finance anymore. Gone are the days of home equity loans to buy a rail. That being said, I still want a RAZR for my trail riding trips up in Marysvale, UT.
nwtdiesel
Just my opinion and 2c I bought a SXS years ago and loved it but always wanted a rail just didn't have the $$$$. It bugged me that I couldn't fit very good in a SXS and when the fam was with me we were squished and the SXS lost all its power. Few years ago I bought my first turbo VW rail and was hooked. Now im on my third rail which is 5 seater long travel 400hp and I can not wait to dune! I like SXS and they have came along ways but just not for me. I like to have room. I like power with the family in the vehicle.
mineurbiz
I love them both, just the down side for me personally is that a rail is $$$ to fix and only usable in the sand. SXS is no rail in the sand and not capable of keeping up, but still a very very fun dune toy and I can take it to Utah for trail riding, which is why it is the better option for me personally. Rails and SXS's are both awesome machines, it is up to the individual owners as to what works for them. Back on topic, I will be headed to SSSS, room is booked!
nwtdiesel
When is the best time to buy product? Sales? Used parts?
dunefreak
When is the best time to buy product? Sales? Used parts? There's rarely any used parts there. Friday night is the best time to go since there aren't as many crowds. That or Sunday afternoon after everyone is burned out and has bailed. nwtdiesel
Are there good deals there? Is it worth going? I'm looking for a new set of paddles, LED lights, 30" light bar
raspadoo
@@nwtdiesel with that list it will probably be worth going to, however, most companies will honor their ssss deals via phone order within a week of the show
Adam @ GTP Off Road
I can work some LED light bar deals. We have the Cree 30" listed for $250 and can do free lens covers for DDR members. We have 50" curve also, which might fit on a sand car, and would be sooo awesome. the curve light bars are the sh*t.

Adam @ GTP Off Road
yeah, I'd put our light bars up against anything else out there. I think you'd be very hard pressed to find any real difference, especially with the dollar amount differences. We are selling 30" lights now for just $250. The 50" curved are pure badd a$$. we are going to get some 40" curve in also before the season for the sand rail guys.
mineurbiz
I disagree in the just a name part, I have seen several come apart. I don't think there is a big separation is brightness, more quality and durability.
Adam @ GTP Off Road
there are different levels of light bars for sure. The ones we have been selling are great in quality and I would compare them to name brands. many places online, ebay and the like, sell light bars very cheap, and we have experimented from them. We buy the ones we buy because they work, they are tested and have proven up to the task. the name brand ones are built really well also, and I am in no way saying they are not or trying to "bash" them. It all depends on the buyer and what works for them. we are totally confident in our light bars, and we feel they are an excellent value for price.
