dunefreak
I wonder if the dunes will ever dry out? More rain yesterday made for more wet sand which means more tracks and less fluffy, fun stuff. pics from GTP Offroad

Adam @ GTP Off Road
It was pretty wet. It was raining pretty hard on the drive out and Friday night setting up. I said screw and knew the Dune Gods would shine down on us. They did with nice weather Saturday and sunday. It was low 70's each day. The wet sand was making the bikes even run a little warm. The top layers were drying out, and if it stays dry till Presidents it should be pretty nice. The wet sand made for some nice lines but even with very few people it got tore up pretty good Saturday. Saturday night winds smoothed things out nicely.
DuNe~Rydher
Hey, it didn't stop you guys and that's all that matters. The weather man who's never right says it's suppose to be nice til past Prez day. Hoping for dry days and windy nights til then. sand chick
Yes those dunes were wet and Friday it sprinkled on us when we got there. The road is a full on F washboard and huge pot holes. So rough it broke the exhaust on the genny. The dunes were pretty tracked out and rutted... ok enough of the complaints.. on to the good sh!t.. Woke up Saturday to some beautiful partly cloudy skies. Spent almost the entire day out in the sand, jumping, wheelies, and general tearing up the sand. Found a nice spot to get some mini wheelies out of the Ace and a good jump spot for me to test the jump waters with the Ace... nothing of course like Mike and Adam's flight patterns.. When we came in for a lunch break, we were treated to a couple fighter jets skimming by us and then dropping down into the gully. On Sunday they buzzed us on the finger dune... love seeing them.. Chilling at the fire on Saturday night, finishing off round and round food, when an RV pulls up, looking for BR#3.. turns out to be the Dumont Dunes legend @@RUn2it awesome seeing Lee out there, he pulled right up and camped with us. I could listen to his stories and advice for days! Stayed late into the day on Sunday, one last ride and then back to pack it up. Lee was just getting his new to him quad going and was out playing on the finger dune, so I pulled out the camera to take some photos of him for a change! As always a great weekend in the sand! Spider
Whoever said the dunes were smooth two weekends ago were on crack. I was out there saturday for a day trip and they were torn up and bumpy as sh*t because dunes super wet. Need people off the dunes for two weeks and the wind to blow like hell.

Not 2weeks ago but the Saturday of the 24th . 1 week ago The dunes were awesome it must have blown during the week. But then again i dont ride much north of banchee hill... I rather ride south of comp hill. Where not much people ride. Its smoother and steeper. . Thats how I like it....
RUn2it
HDR.... that's the term, like STML, short term memory loss.....what were we talking about? fastony
Thats exactly what happens when ridden on wet sand...dunes get destroyed. .
RUn2it
The sand repairs itself pretty quick, where I took the Monday sunset pic I also took this one and most of the rough sand was already smoothed out. The 2nd pic is from the day before and shows where I was the next day when I took the Sunset and flats pics and is really tore up
fastony
Yeup ... like I said earlier. The dunes were smooth last week ...after it was destroyed by the rain . I was glad the wind picked up later in the day... I was already back home. Lookin forward for president weekend. ..
Landsandcrab
The wet sand was awesome! Too wet....not so much. That's part of enjoying the dunes...the changing conditions challange the drivers/riders so after awhile nothing surprises you. Although I wouldn't want to be out there in a major sandstorm!
