sand chick Posted November 2, 2015 Share Posted November 2, 2015 Let's hear how your Halloween weekend went! We were busy at the GTP Off Road booth. Vendor Row was lacking in the vendor department... Hog Haven, Funnel dude, Big Belly Crew, and Racin Dirty all missing in action. However Grandpa's Ice Cream was delish and Beefy Boys took care of our food needs. There were some other new T-shirt places and another parts booth, that looked like they had a lot of those small parts, nuts and bolts.We had some stuff stolen right out of our booth on Friday. So Saturday we had to make sure we had one person out watching the booth and people in it at all times. Makes it difficult to get something to eat, or have one person leave for any reason. So sorry if we were a little slow on Saturday and the line was long. Leaves such a bad taste that you can't trust people walking into your area, when you are out there working hard to bring people something that might save your weekend at a duners ourselves price. Mike dropped me off on Wednesday morning, then turned right around and went back to town to pick up the vending trailer. So I putted around the lower dunes while waiting for him to return, so we could start getting set up. But he was delayed in town, so I cruised out and did a sunset ride solo, found a good place to chill and watch the sun go down. Then it was work work work.. We packed everything up as the trick or treaters came by. So many we ran out of candy we had three bags of 100 thinking that would be enough, sadly we had to turn kiddos away. All the costumes were so cute! We were closed today, so we went ahead a took one cruise to the N Pole and man was it rough! Peeps were definitely out there enjoying the dunes this weekend. Hung out for a little bit more to make a pizza on the pizzazz and down went the gennie! Thankfully our friend's Brandon and Laurie were still out there, so they invited us to have lunch and we headed to their camp. Awesome peeps! Thank you to everyone who stopped by and supported us on vendor row. We wish we could have every part that you might need, but it is pretty impossible to stock everything. This year we tried to have a wider variety of products and ran out of some items. We should have even more on Thanksgiving weekend. If you stopped by to say hello and we didn't have time to chat, we apologize. We wish we had time to chat with everyone, but it just gets hectic sometimes. We do always try to have a fire going after we close, and visitors are always welcome to stop by chat and enjoy a beverage. I hope all your weekends went well! Friday was windy and I did not ever set up my tent, slept in my truck. Saturday was beautiful, got a couple good runs in, towed a few broken vehicles back to various camps, tried to help those in need as I've been there myself. It seemed like there was a really good turnout this year and alot of fun Halloween spirit in the air. I recently swapped my paddles to #1 instead of 2's and holy crap it ran amazing. It pulled hard up comp and still wheelies with ease. Very happy about that. My buddy Walter (@b370), Howard, Trish and Laura absolutely nailed it with the Flintstones costume! My buddy Chris joined me this trip and brought out his mini buggy for the first time. He had no paddles and has a few things to dial in but he had a blast camp hopping and cruising around. I went for a ride with him. I barely fit but I pulled it off. haha I cruised vendor row a few times. Sorry I never stopped to say high. I was just cruising. Friday's wind Friday late morning the camp area started to fill in. I stopped over at comp and was happy to see some buggies in between the flocks of side x sides. Oh, they're my buddies friecracker, white rhino, quadrockets and the crew. Some die hard 2 wheeler guys racing at the hill. Superman sighting That Friday wind sucked but it finally calmed down late afternoon enough for a nice dune run. There was nobody in the dunes. They were all staring at each other at the north pole. lol Back over at comp we spotted the helicopter flying over. I heard of a couple semi-bad accidents, but nothing life threatening so that's good. Pics from comp on Friday Then we squeezed in one more run at sun-down. It was a great dune ride. Sunset from N Pole Friday night I threw some Halloween lights up to get in the spirit. Friday night at comp was pretty busy. I've never seen so many lighted whips. Saturday morning we woke up to amazing weather in camp. This guy was having fun Lou B getting his ATC fix. Saturday's morning run was nice. The dunes were tracked out enough to have plenty of lines to choose from without thinking too much but they didn't seem too rough at all. Banshee Hill was busy! Lindsay B's new puppy, Sophie. JVZ's boy, Austin, was having alot of fun. Krusty & Dawne going out for a ride. My buddy Chris C's old 250 Chris was loving his new little buggy. Saturday this guy buzzed the North Pole. We stopped by the McFlurry camp to visit friends for a bit and do some weight lifting. lol Ultralight guy was having a blast I bet. We had some great costumes among our camp and friends as well, Vegas Style... Christina JVZ Krusty Our neighbor's cemetery and then Howard, Walter, Trish and Laura. Just amazing! Comp Hill was insane Saturday night. Our friend's buddy brought out his drone and flew it all over comp with the ghost attached. That was great! Never got a pic, but I have video I'll post. By Sunday I was out of gas. I bummed some 91 from dentboy and we took a nice non-boost cruise. I spotted lvnalolife pass by. Camp area on Sunday. Solid line of rigs leaving SUnday afternoon. We had a great time, and everybody we meet was very friendly. Thanks to the guy (sorry I forgot your name) that was looking for his friends and stopped to help pull me out as we were coming in. We arrived after dark, and I wasn't as familiar with the sandy areas as many of you, so I got stuck with the truck and trailer. We made sure to swing by vendor row Saturday and support the vendors out there. Special thanks to GTP Offroad for the great prices and friendly service. Picked up an Axia Alloys fire extinguisher kit for a great price! Here are a few pics from our weekend. I need to get a tent that is less likely to fill with sand though. That wind was making the sand come through the vents like I had no tent at all.
