Dirtyfish
What do you guy think is the best way to dumont from vegas with the least amount of hills
dunefreak
If you go the Baker route, Mountain Pass is along gradual hill. There aren't many other hills, if any, after that. If you go the Tecopa way, it's a short but very brutal hill. There are a couple small hills to climb throughout the Old Spanish Trail Hwy & HWY 127.
DunaticSuzyQ
Yes. What ^^ dunefreak said ^^. The route we take depends on the load that trip. Tecopa is quicker but that hill...
Dune Cruzer
What part of town do you live in? I live in the NW, and take 95N to the 160. Yes , there's a pretty darn good grade to pull, but that's about the worst of the trip. You'll go right into Pahrump, where you can top off fuel, pick up any last minute forgotten items, or whatever. From the 160, make a right at the McD's (I forget the Route #) and follow all the way to the 127 in Shoshone where you'll make a left, and Dumont is not too far from there. 04toy
Just a heads up - Route 372 (Main route from Pahrump to Dumont) is under construction and will be through till mid 2017. http://www.nyecounty.net/index.aspx?NID=912 Edited October 25, 2016 by 04toy
Vegas FX400
I live in Mts Edge and we do 160 through Pahrump then past Tecopa, into Pahrump and take the road up to Shoshone...it's a bit longer than Tecopa way, but the road is way smoother.
