Sand buddy
I don't know how many of you have the pleasure of meeting him but sad news that legendary chassis builder and fabricator Mike Mazzone passed today flying his plane at Glamis. Please have a moment in his memory.
dunefreak
Oh no that's terrible. Never met him but I have heard that name many many times throughout my years at the dunes. Rest in pace.

bp-guy
I met him many years ago out in Glamis. His rails were state of the art when VW's were still the powerplant to have. I tried chasing him around out near Osborne Overlook and could not keep up. I think he had a 2276 or 2333 and I had my lil ole 1835. I went to his shop when I was ready to get a new rail. His prices were more than I could afford, But he was still the goto guy when you bought a rail in the early 90's. We crossed paths a few times over the years. Couldn't miss his lifted Ford with Mazzone painted on his door. Sucks that he is gone. Sounds like he went out doing what he loved. Hope it was quick and painless for him.
