TbonesMalones
Basically, bars that serve food are non smoking. They either have to stop serving food and allow smoking or serve food and ban smoking. Gay, this is Vegas not Utah. :redhat: :redhat: :redhat: :redhat: :redhat: :redhat:
dreamrr
This is a horrible bill to get pasted! I was really hoping that it wouldn't pass! I hope there is an exception made for bars otherwise thousands of people will be out of a job and bar owners will take a huge hit in income. Plus, where will we go to get some good bar food? SandBox_Kid
I agree that both questions 4 and 5 were written poorly. That's why I voted against both of them.
Richard Cheese
I am a non smoker too before the smoking ban in CA, I used to bounce in a few bars around town. I HATED coming home, reeking of smoke, yellow stains on my work shirt. I could only imagine what it was doing to my lungs. now a few years after the ban, I love being able to enjoy a nice meal out once in awhile, with no smoke, as well as afew drinks without people training cigs all around me. just my
dunefreak
I'm with d*ck cheese on this one... Last night I heard some lady interviewed on the news in a bar say that it is HER American right to be able to sit at a bar and smoke and gamble and also have a snack (something to eat) at the same time. What about the non-smokers' rights? If I want to sit at a bar and do the same but non cause lung cancer to myself shouldn't that be my right too? If I want to destroy my liver and sit there drinking my a$$ off :redhat: :redhat: then that's my choice. It does no harm to anyone around me like 2nd hand smoke does. :redhat: Why can't people just go smoke outside if they want to have a smoke? If I am eating, I personally don't want to eat and breathe in somebody else's nasty a$$ smoke at the same time. :redhat: As I understand it, bar owners are thinking of getting rid of the FOOD instead of the smokers. Why? Where are the smokers gonna go? All the bars that serve food have to follow the same rule law). So SMOKING is more of a proirity to people than EATING? Sincity_blondie
Im with Freak & Cheese on this!! I always hate goin out, and coming home reeking of smoke. Its just NASTY!!! I always love goin to cali and not having to worry about sitting in a resturant with someones smoke getting to me. I think its a good thing. I do hate to see people loose their jobs over this, but thats really on the bars that are choosing smokers over their food servers. I think its been a long time coming!! dreamrr
The bar owners will choose smokers over food because the food makes no money. Food is there to benefit the gamblers. Gaming is why bars are around for people to enjoy. If smoking is banned in bars, then smokers will go to casinos (because there is an exception for casinos....that's crap) and bars will close their doors. EY3BA11
Again it all comes down to CHOICE... Its my right my choice to smoke.. its your right your choice not to smoke... Having grown up in california it doesnt bother me one way or the other they will just have to add a smokers lounge... but look at it this way... If you cant drink and have a smoke at the bar while playing the machine which is what ALOT of people do and where ALOT of nevadas revenue comes from why keep the food. Poorly written. Now....I'm willing to bet the DUI's will increase when the food is eliminated from the bars. I agree too! I hate coming home after going out and smelling like cigarettes. vegas style
i think it is recoil from the non smokers (me) too many times with the smoke in the face or in the non smoking section having smoke blown your way . take this as a good time to try to stop and be healthy
EY3BA11
I try and respect those around me... If everyone is eating ill back off into a corner or go away from them or up to the bar and not be around them... I will blow my smoke straight up or away from people... there are curtious smokers and there are douchebag smokers that dont care where their smoke goes.. TbonesMalones
T-Bones <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<Non-smoker. But I like to eat late and now no more food, so I guess I'll stop drinking, gambling and start going to the gym. BOOOOOOO
dreamrr
I don't smoke, but this really upsets me. I don't like the govenment getting in my business. Plus, my family is in the bar business, so this really effects us.
Don29palms
I have mixed feelings about this issue. I live in California so there's not really anything I can do about it. I am also a non-smoker. It's nice to be able to be inside a bar that is not all smoky. Most of the bars around here have made nice little outside patio areas for the smokers. On the other hand I would say that most of the people that frequent bars also smoke. It makes it hard on the bar owners to make everyone happy.
