Ross and Alice
Girlfriend wants a quad with an auto trans. The Kawa 700 comes to mind, but sitting on it it seems really big and clunky to her. I realize not fair to judge it on the showroom floor. She doesn't need a steamer,, but doesnt want a sled either. I've seen them on the dunes and they seem quite nice. Slow, but nice. Any takes on the Kawa,, and any other auto trans adult quads out there? Any changes over the past since the kawa came out? Thanks

iweb
I have 2 and they are the best dune quad out there, and they are not slow. If you want to just race up and down comp, stock you will get beat by the others but duning, you will hang with anything out there. You can stop at the bottom of any dune at Dumont and then take off and climb to the top and over to the other side unlike a raptor or similar that runs out of power toward the top. I had 2 raptors and now I have a 250r and they are not close to being a dune quad as the v force. Whats nice is the v force also has engine brake so you seldom have to use the brake, the throttle is go and stop which makes it best for newbies too, no missed shifts and no getting stuck, I have yet to get a v force stuck. Ross and Alice
Thanks,, I appreciate that. I'll guide her to the V force, but let her choose. The "striped" paint schemes look really nice. Saw them in several colors w tiger stripes at Berts. What size wheel and type of paddle do you run. I was thinking sand stars on a stock size and stock offset aluminum ITP rim. The prices on the V force really vary from dealer to dealer.
iweb
I run 22" Sandstars on ITP T9 back and just yesterday bought 22" dble ridge just like Sandstar (can't remember the brand) for the front of one quad and the other still has the knobbies. I get mine from Paddle Tire King on Las Vegas Blvd just north of Charleston in Vegas, he is cheaper than anyone I have found. The sandstars I think are best for duning but if you want to race up comp all day then the 24" Skat Trak Extreme haulers are suppose to hook up better but then they don't turn/slide as well out duning. There are 4 v forces in our camp and everyone runs the Sandstars.
Ross and Alice
I've got sandstars on our YFZ 450's and we love them. You're right the haulers have the edge on comp., sandstars have nice handling.
