sandqueen
I know I posted something awhile ago about this but I thought I would ask again since the number of members has tripled. Does anyone know of anyone that will come to Dumont and fill your water and empty your black and gray tanks? If so, do you have a name or phone number? I am really surprised I have never seen someone out there. There is one company (YoBananaBoy) in Pismo and there are all over the place and have reasonable prices. Is there someone in Glamis? ntrsandman
I know I posted something awhile ago about this but I thought I would ask again since the number of members has tripled. I am really surprised I have never seen someone out there. There is one company (YoBananaBoy) in Pismo and there are all over the place and have reasonable prices. Is there someone in Glamis? I did some research and Dumont is controlled by the Bureau of Land Management. There is plenty of info on the BLM site on Dumont. On the other hand, Pismo (Oceano) has minimal info on the BLM site. I have also read that Pismo is controlled by the California Dept. of Parks and Recreation. I would suspect the BLM is selective on the permits for goods/services provided at Dumont. If the BLM did issue a permit for a water/waste service, I would think the service would be very expensive. Coming out of Baker, Shoshone, or Pahrump is a relatively long drive compared to the couple miles at Pismo. And Pismo is year round while Dumont is seasonal. (I guess the die-hards go in the middle of summer) How screwed up would Dumont be if there were RV rentals, ATV & rail rentals, Bars, restaraunts, etc. within a couple miles of the dunes? It may be more cost effective to bring more water and a blue waste tank to get you by. JMO Edited March 11, 2007 by ntrsandman
