Richard Cheese
how many of you has THIS happened to? Had a Doctor's appointment this morning @ 11:15. I get there, walking down the hallway toward the office, and there are like 10 people standing OUTSIDE the doorway. I figured they were waiting for something......come to find out....they were waiting......FOR A FUGGIN SEAT IN THE WAITING ROOM BECAUSE IT IS PACKED LIKE A FUGGIN CATTLE CAR i go to the window to check in, and the lady doesn't say anything about a wait or anything, so I sit down outside on a bench and fill out the paperwork and turn it in. I am there for about 20 minutes, and NOBODY GETS CALLED I go up to the window again and politely ask the lady if they are running behind.......she replies, "yeah, about 2 hours behind" :freakin_nuts: I then ask why I wasn't contacted and told so, and the raises her voice at me, who is then joined in by the doctor who just walked in telling me that this is nothing out of the ordinary. By that time I was fuggin like , asked for my paperwork back, told them to cancel my appointment. they asked for a reschedule, and I just and asked them, "if you treat your patients like this, why would I come back here?" and walked out. WTF is wrong with some of these doctors? do they not realize that there are other doctors out there who can offer better customer service then they can? i mean the waiting room was disgustingly dirty. ugly 1970's carpet, assistants with attitude, not to mention the effen doctor's too. I immediately came home, looked up another dermatologist, called and asked the assistant questions like? 1. do you call your patients if you are running behind schedule? 2. how important are your patients to you? 3. what is your procedure if you are running 30 minutes or more behind schedule? etc etc I am also writing a letter to the local paper about this too.... :ahhhhh: ahhhhhhhh feel better...vent complete Edited July 16, 2007 by RICHARDCHEESE

My4DrGSR
I feel ya. Luckily I have all my regualr doctors situated finally, so as long as none of them move away I'm good. If I move away I'll come back for my appointments, no joke. Specialists, on the other hand, for non-regualr stuff... The bone doctors I went to when I fractured my wrist riding were effin weird. They didn't explain anything ever, they put the 1st cast on WRONG and I had to go back the next day to do it over. One grabbed my wrist with no warning when I got the cast off and man-handled it, if it wasn't for my physical therapist I would have no idea wtf was going on, I'd never broken anything. I think they expect you to know things already, I dunno. One of them really wanted to put a screw (not a pin, a screw, excuse me for making that lil mistake) in my wrist, and seemed thoroughly disappointed when he looked at the x-rays and i didn't need it... (as I breathed a sigh of relief, I didn't want surgery!!!) Just to touch on a couple of the oddities.
SandBox_Kid
Been there....done that. I walk out of the office 30min after my scheduled appt is supposed to start if I haven't been called. :freakin_nuts: My time is just as important as theirs. vegas style
wow cheese you need to teach summer school or something you have too much time on your hands. on the Dr post I have been to a bunch of doctors with my broken ankle and im amazed at the top level of care I have received. from the ER, to the surgeon, operating room staff and physical theorist. I have been seen by a few very bad doctors before and i am not a fan. but this accident has restored some respect for medical staff. still not a lot of trust................. dunefreak
Yup I hear ya. Fortunately, I haven't had to go top the doctor in some time. Your story sounds like every time I have ever been to the doctor....EXCEPT for the last time I had to go to my ortho for my 2 broken arms. You guys remember that chit? The medical center/ doctor's office that I went to had their chit together though! :freakin_nuts: We walked in & were greeted by somebody at the door. Then that person asked who we were there to see. Then she walked us to the front counter and told the person behind the counter (receptionist/ assistant) who we were and instructed us to fill out some paperwork and have a seat and that we'd be called shortly. I figured it was all a bunch of BS and we'd be there for hours. NOPE, before I could even get all the paperwork filled out I was called up to one of maybe 10 different stations or cubicles where they processed your paperwork. As soon as they handled all the sign in paperword stuff, they called me right in. That has been, by far, the best experience I have ever had with a doctor's office. Every part of that doctor's offcie was awesome...expect for when they needed 3 guys to re-break my left arm. :ahhhhh:

I am finishing up my masters right now....tons of writing for this last class.....all due next Wednesday. then, it is off to pismo to do some and some and :freakin_nuts: I don't teach summer school any more.....don't really need the cash, as I put more than enough money away during the year to survive the summer quite nicely :ahhhhh: I feel bad that I take my son to preschool every day though, because I could have him out riding in the dirt field behind our house, on his quad, or take him to disneyland for the day, camping in the mountains....teach him how to shoot and clean my .22 that i've had almost all my life......... summer school...yeah i'm at summer school......just the WRONG end of it It's not like I have had nothing but bad experiences with doctors. my dentist rocks, along with my eye doctor. this clown though......... :angry22: hey ...how did you break BOTH of your arms @ the same time??? OGP
The doctors offices triple book the appointment times. After all the back surgeries ive had, I have gotten to know the girls in the front office very well. I would call ahead and have them sign in for me and also find out how far the dr was running behind. My back surgeon is the best and was well worth the wait.
