Desertdog
Has anyone installed one of these filters on a Yamaha 660? They seem like A good idea. It's a flange adapter that fits on the KN filter then slides into the round intake port in the air filter housing and bolts in. They say you can run these wih the filter cover box off. I have an AFE filter that fits like crap and dosen't seal.
dunefreak
I have one one on my Raptor 660. It's definitely the way to go. I run mine wth the lid off. I threw that away a long time ago. You do have to rejet for taking the lid off though. It leans it out a bunch when you take it off.

dunefreak
SWEET!!! IS it an oiless filter? no, it's a K&N with a billet adpater to mate up to the airbox opening for the carbs
Richard Cheese
because the stock repalcement K and N's don't fit too well?
dunefreak
because the stock repalcement K and N's don't fit too well? nope. They fall off and you can't run without the airbox lid.
Gazlay43
we had one on r 660, but we switched 2 a K&N with an outerwear and no lid and we like it a lot better Edited August 1, 2007 by Gazlay43
dunefreak
we had one on r 660, but we switched 2 a K&N with an outerwear and we like it a lot better Are you sure you know what you are talking about? Becasue the pro-design filter setup IS a K&N with an outerwear. Or were you talking about a stock fit K&N setup?

K&N also has a similar kit as well
RaptorMike
I just added a pro design filter to my 07 raptor, it is pre foam filter and then has a foam filter to slip over the pre filter and run lid cover off. My question is do you have to oil both filters, pre filter and outer foam filter.
dunefreak
I do. Just make sure you don't over-oil them.
RaptorMike
I do. Just make sure you don't over-oil them. Light coat here on both, didnt want to much restriction. The hmf pipe, dobeck controller and pro flo filter seem to work good, bike a little more snappier.
