barneycar
I got stuck friday moring and needed to be pulled out it took two trucks to pull me out. my question is the trucks that pulled me out there wheels hoped up and down as they pulled one was a chevy and the other was a ford both where diesels and 2500 short beds both had posi or limited slip . but there was a dodge 2500 short bed crew that pulled a chevy and a 5th wheel out and had no wheel hope so what gives. just would like to now what the differance is thanks Sean
EY3BA11
soft springs... too much torque.. lots of things can induce wheel hop..
Vegashd
Diesels suffer from axle wrap due to alot fo torque. You will often get wheel hop on vehicles that suffer from axle wrap or softer rear springs... althought not as likely from softer rear springs. Also in the sand you will get the bad case of wheel hop due to traction, or the lack of traction in some cases. Was one of them in 4wheel drive? ALthough... maybe it is because Dodges are far superior... LOL KIdding of course.... Edited October 31, 2007 by Vegashd
barneycar
also watched a 450 pull on a chevy that was hooked to a big pusher and it had wheel hop real bad

SandBox_Kid
It's not just diesel's....I get the same thing with my 6.0l gasser.
barefoot bob
they all will do it to much gas tires start looking for traction there going to hop. lower your air pressure a lil less gas and it will help. gas or diesel it doesnt matter
DIRTY DYKSTRA
most the time the wheel hop starts when the tires start to spin. the pulling truck is being held back by the stuck vehicle. Its tire are trying to go forward and the stuck truck wont let it, so all that forward momentom has to go somewhere...
