Raptor661
Anyone know where I can get the formula to figure gearing/tire sizes? I seen one awhile back that would tell you how to figure your engine rpm's @ xxx speed using xxx tire size and ratio. Now I cant find it. I bought a set of gears for my truck this weekend but want to make sure they arent too low before I install them.

Noozeyeguy
Try here. What ratio gears, and what size tires?
Raptor661
Try here. What ratio gears, and what size tires? I found some charts but they are incorrect. Its a 96 with the stock 3.42 gears. Im running 33 inch tires and I have 4.11 gears (not installed). I would like to keep the rpms under 2700 @ 70 mph. Stock it runs abuot 2150 rpm's. All the charts and formula's I found say it runs 2400-2500 @ 70 stock That tells me the charts might not be right. The best ive been able to come up with is with is 2588@ 70 mph but I dont know how close thats going to be. Im mainly looking to make sure that these gears are going to be right before I install them.
