these are not in any specific order sooooo..

Unlike pimpshack, i had a good time doing my pizza delivery gig....the reason why?? i got to work the beer when i wasnt out on delivery, and when we got busy inside, i wouldnt go out on delivery....ALL my friends, good and bad, would show up for the McCHEESE special.....free tuxedos till ya blew chunks!! then I'd make ya a pizza man, the fun i had at THAT place....having to carry my friends out to their cars.....the crazy deliveries i did...almost gettin chomped on by a doberman

I also bounced a lot while going to college...free alcohol, free admittance into the best clubs in town...many times drinking for free.....the freekin times i had doing those gigs, i oculd fill up a whole server .... ... i will elaborate one story..... I was bouncing at the black angus bar...it was the R and B hotspot :afro: :afro: :afro: and some more cheese :afro: :afro: one of the posts we had was to make sure no glass went to the restroom. we positioned a bouncer down the hallway from the bathroom to watch. well i was at that spot one night, rappin with a couple guys i knew, when one ofthem told me a girl just snuck by with a glass of beer...." excuse me' maam" "maam!!!: excues me maaam!!! hey lady!!!! EXCUSE ME LADY!!!! HEY LADY IM TALKIN TO YOU!!!!!! HEY YOU f*cking b*tch, DONT IGNORE MY a$$!! , to which she turned around ..."you a-hole dont call me a b*tch!! " and went to my boss....he called me into his office, where that smug b*tch was sittin, and he dressed me down in front of her, then told her he was going to take it a step further, and asked her to leave. she shut the door, and i was about ready to sh*t my pants, when my boss started laughing his azz off...said it was the funniest thing he ever heard...

I also got to do dealer trades for cars when my friend was a manager at a local car dealership.....the best one was drving a brand new Jag back to dallas, and gettin flown home for 2k!!! i stoped in laughlin, lost my a$$ at the card tables, and tucked it into my bills, and the dealership in dallas paid for it!~!!

i drove an ice cream truck for about two months....id stop by all my friends houses, hand out free ice cream, pull up to the mall and double charge all the :afro: to make up for all the free ice cream i gave out

i was also a lifequard for 4 years during highschool and 2 years of college in the summertimes.....for some reason the lifeguards in bakersfield LOVED to party!! the kids jumping off the 1 and 3 meter boards were classic entertainment too...fuggin hilarious some of the chit i saw there.

right out of college, I collected defaulted student loans. I had a toll free number and I was nation-wide, dealing with :afro: lemme ax you dis, and I aint gotz no moneyz.....and , Hello, is la TREY tweeka there???, whachoo allup in ma bidness fo? my collecter name was Peter Jennings, and at least once a week, i wouldget, " hurry up, Peter Jennings from the news wants to talk to you!!"

The Marine Corps sent me thorugh Caterpillar Earthmoving mechanics school, then Carrier refrigeration repair school.

When I got discharged I got hired on the spot at the Budweiser brewery in LA.

We had beer breaks on the job, But:

If you were even seen chatting with someone while working , you'd get written up, then another infraction you were fired.

It was a tough place to work.

Strikes all the time, brutal mean bosses. I never had problems, but the hostile working environment really sucked.

I used to go on the beer loading dock and see Power Company workers sitting on their work trucks tailgates, playing cards, eating sandwitches, drinking free Busch Bavarian beer we gave them.

Go back out 4 hours later and they're still there, playing cards, eating snacks, and drinking beer.

I thought that's the job for me.

I applied to the LADWP, got hired at $4 more per hour than Budweiser, far better benefits, 12 years less and 50% more pay to retire.

The only bad part of the job was working with and for some brutally raciest black people.

Far more raciest than ANY biggoted white person I ever met. Hating whites was a lifestyle for these black folk.

But labors laws concerning racism work in both directions,, and perservance with knowledge of the system,, and you could have them by the sack or short hairs just on the strength of an accusation.

Ya didn't have to work, and they couldn't fire you,, so why not mess the the heads of the Biggoted Blacks ya work for that were making your work life miserable?

It was easy, all ya needed was an ink pen, and the right federal labor complaint forms, and a postage stamp.

Duner Hells Angel Steve was a hard working, razor sharp elevator mechanic, raised on a Kansas Pig farm, showed me the ropes to dealing with reverse discrimination.

They'd screw with him because they felt like it.

They counted my 4 years in the Marines as good time to add to my retirement.

So I retired 4 years earlier, and they added another $400 a month to my pension too.

I feel like I got those 4 years in the Marines back.

Other than working for Louis Farrakans lieutenants, the job was outstanding, with awesome pay and working conditions.

I would say the best job I have ever had is the one I have now. Service Manager at Lamborghini. I get to put about 30 miles on Lamborghini's a week and most of the time they are the easiest customers to deal with..............most of the time.

I worked for a few different night clubs in San Diego mostly. Afterdark, Clubtronix, Distillery. I also played at the Red Onion in LA and a couple times at Margarita Village in Tijuana. I did a lot of weddings and parties which paid good money and free drinks.

When I was in the Marine Corp, I had my mobile unit shipped back east where I was stationed and played in Jacksonville Florida making $500 for 4 hour work at about 4 different clubs a differeent club every night. I played in Virginia, South Carolina and the best "dive" I played in was a country bar (The Flowing Well) in Kingsland GA. Nobody had any teeth and all the locals were related. I did it because it was local and payed good but I hate country music. I used to throw in Sir Mix Alot Square Dance Rap as a back beat and scratch in bits and pieces for a chuckle. These people had no idea I was cutting in rap music into their Garth Brooks/Willie Nelson or they would have hung me. I Also used to put together mix tapes and have my buddy sell them in the New York area. They went pretty quick and that's a rough market to compete in. Made me feel pretty damn good.

The best part about it besides being a a party everynight was the ladies. It was kinda like being a porn star without the cameras. Being as I was younger and better looking than today I have some fond memories.

Most memorable moments? Meeting Ice-T, Easy-E, Coolio, Snoop Dog and Maggotron. Hanging out back stage at a 3 day concert in Jacksonville Florida with the Cover Girls, En Vogue, Stevie B and the sorts. Setting up the mobile unit for lunch time at my high school and spinnin' some vinyl. Playing at my homecoming. Wet T-shirt contests and of course the ladies.

The absolute best part was being up in a booth 8 feet above the floor and having complete control of 800+ people. Talk about a "I am God" complex. I could make them dance or sit down whenever I wanted. I could make them scream and yell or curse at me. I could even help the ugly people get laid. And of course make them thirsty and buy drinks (I had the A/C control in the booth and used to shut it off when I played a good 20 minute set then I'd "slow it down" and watch people flock to the bar. The bartender used too share in his tips:)

Ahh to be young again. If anybody has a use for an old, fat, bald DJ with his crates of 80's/90's dance hits, Drop me a note. I've still got most of my stuff and all my records. Oh and yes, I can still mix, cut, scratch and transform

the only downside to working in clubs was coming home smelling...no REAKING of cigarette smoke i would have to buy new shirts to bounce in every three weeks or so, because they would turn yellow

The best job I ever had was being a MOM. I only had one daughter and to see her with her two boys sure makes me feel like I really did something good. She turned out to be not only a great mom but a good person. I have accomplished at least one of my goals in life.

Didn't make much money though.

The best job I ever had was being a MOM. I only had one daughter and to see her with her two boys sure makes me feel like I really did something good. She turned out to be not only a great mom but a good person. I have accomplished at least one of my goals in life.

Didn't make much money though.

My favorite job was working as a support equipment mechanic in the Air Force. When I wasn't doing maintenance I was on the flight line delivering equipment to the fighter jets!

What a blast, kept me on my toes, very gratifying!

I think the only other job that came close to that one was when I worked as a behavior disorder therapist one on one with a second grader, who was the most unruly little thing when I came on bored. Watching him come around with some possitive feedback, when all he had ever gotten was negative, was awesome! The most rewarding experience was when he had worked extra hard on a project (abe lincoln's cabin made out of popsicle sticks) and it got an award! The smile on his face and to see how proud he was! PRICELESS!!!

I do enjoy my current job dispatching at the LVCVA (Convention Center), but my best job had to be 3 years on patrol with LVMPD which I had to leave due to a medical condition .

My current job is the best...DoD contractor. I get to go all over the world, support our troops and make a very decent penny.

Have had some really great jobs, enjoyed working with the majority of co-workers, and gained new experience and memories at each.

One that comes to mind as a favorite is when I worked at J&P Thermal Glass. Got hired on virtue of personality, no previous experience in the construction business nor much front office for that matter. A great gal (the one I was replacing) trained me in the basics and I took the ball and ran with it. The shop supervisor was awesome--I got spoiled 'cause being the only female in the shop, I got away with all kinds of chit. The owner (Jimmy Franco) was a NY Italian and had the biggest heart, gangsta style!! Even when business took a major hit, he gave all us employees a Christmas party to remember. Soon after the new year, he had to start laying off employees, and I was one of them. Since his wife could do the job I was doing, me and 3 glaziers had to go. Broke my heart but will always appreciate the experience and confidence I gained! Broke my heart once again when I found out Jimmy died a few days after our first daughter was born in '93.

Went to Acme Equipment soon after the lay-off. Again, SPOILED. I set my own hours, the owner was a sweetheart (TOO sweet, pricing himself out of business) so the shop supervisor and I did what we could to make him some money. Worked there 'til above^^^daughter was due.

Stayed home with her and daughter #2 followed 18 months later. Went back to work for awhile.....at a Daycare center of all places.....until I was too pregnant with our youngest to be lifting other peoples' kids. Probably the hardest job I ever had, but very rewarding!

Went back to work after 9-11. I got hired on at the County part-time. Dropped kids off at school, went to work, off in time to pick them up and get back to the real job, being "mommy". Still there 6½ years later, still part time because I am SPOILED by the flexibility I have. I really enjoy the job, the people, the connections, but ............................................

I remember hanging out at Afterdark back in 89/90, but it was the one in Escondido.

I stared working at 14 as a paperboy, and had a bunch of odd jobs through college, including 3 years at Disney. The best part of that was I met my wife there (still together after 17 years). I also did the mobile DJ gig for a bit, mostly doing proms and grad nights. The job I have now is my best one; I have been here 15 years now, and get to play with equipment I could never hope to afford on my own. I did an event last year for Sony where we saw HD film footage from Spiderman 3 and Surf's Up months before the movies were released; I've met celebrities and fully designed and built stage looks for clients. I've traveled around the country, but one of the best events I worked on was at Camp Pendleton. Not long after Arnie became the Governator, there was a naturalization ceremony at Pendleton that he decided to attend. Since we were already servicing his event in Huntington, we got the call to bring in additional lighting at the base. It was really moving to see all the sailors and Marines becoming citizens, many of whom had just returned from Iraq or Afghanistan.
