dunefreak
the 1.3's used traditional carbs nothing special besides the electric choke which is common on alot of carbs.. still got the usual crap.. not that hard to work on. I don't care. I'm still not working on it. "i like it." how do you get by without having to comprehend basic spanish? i can't order a whopper anymore without speaking spanish heh. un hamburguesa con queso por favor. orale. :?: How do I get by? 04toy
Continuing the off-topic issue. I stopped at a Checker yesterday to pick up a fuel filter, the BLEEP BLEEP counter guy started speaking to me in BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP spanish!! My response word for word "THIS IS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, SPEAK ENGLISH OR GO THE F**K HOME" and walked out. Took my business over to NAPA. I think I have a right to get a little pissy about this whole issue, considering my parents LEGALY emigrated to the country in 1980. We all learned english as a second language BEFORE we came to the states, hell I still can't to this day write or read in Hindi (language spoken mostly in India) never could. We as a nation need to stop catering to the emigrants. They want to be here because of the opportunities available, let them AT THE LEAST show some effort and LEARN the language spoken and understood by the majority. <gets off of his soapbox> Pete, that's a nice truck. What all is done to the motor/trans? Steve, SU's are not that hard to setup if you have a carb sync tool. dunefreak
If you guys wanna talk about English and Spanish- start a new topic! Pete, that's a nice truck. What all is done to the motor/trans? Thanks Kamal. It's a ~9.5/10:1 small block 406 with cam (can't even remeber which one anymore, lol), Bowtie heads, roller rockers, Kieth Black pistons, headers, Street Dominator intake, etc etc Trans used to be a TH350, but I swapped it with a 700R4 so I had overdrive. It's got 3:73's in the rear too.

If the pistons are forged, can't remember if all Kieth Black ones are or not, you could add a 100-150 shot of NOS to it for that extra little kick with the 3.73's it'll help off the line, but those are great freeway/cruise gears. On the 700R4, did you wire in a switch to handle the OD or is it an older model that didn't have that solenoid?

This motor was built abaout 10 years ago so I wont be throwing any NOS at it only cause I don't wanna push it too far. If I remember right - the pistons are hyperutechtic (sp?). They aren't forged. It boils the tires very easily. I'll have to get some video of it roasting the tires one day. The trans has a toggle switch wired in for the converter lockup. I had to keep it simple and fully manual ya know.
