desertskyz
I have had about enough advise to make my brain explode. Neighbors, friends, internet, etc...... So since I'm pissed and determined, I am going down and buying my own texture gun, mud, and spray the effn wall myself. If I mess it up then will be my fault but the best part is, I don't have some know it all Manly man around tell me what to do then taking over and saying, " See that's how it's done. :rant_on: I feel better now I'll try to get some pic's. :moon:

They sell texture in small spray cans for smaller jobs. I've used them before. Worked great for me. May work for ya so you don't have to spend a bunch on a gun. I sprayed a piece of cardboard first to get me on track before I sprayed the wall.
desertskyz
I have a entire wall to do with a fireplace in the middle of it. I already have tape, and plastic and a compressor, but i think I will get the electric one. I have what it takes to get the job done, only one thing missing. EXPERIENCE! but I'll figure it out. Mike did clean the travertine floors with his machine so he didn't just sit on the couch and watch me paint! The renovations start on the game room tomorrow.........FINALLY!! and he gets to do that while I paint the livingroom!! First I had to get the appropriate painting music flowing..................... Then we have before with the plain ole white walls .......... After with (duh) green walls...........just a light shde!! California Avacado, its called. desertskyz
While drilling the pilot hole for my new blinds, I broke the drill bite off inside the hole. I hate this crap. :pile:
EY3BA11
Take a small punch and punch the bit up into the wall and let it live a good life lol..
desertskyz
I ended up putting the screw in right behind the drill bit. Went real slow and it worked good. The pilot drill bit was only a 3/32. The new blinds are up and look great. They match my Plantation Shutter perfect.
EY3BA11
thats gonna be one of the things on our list when we move in.. put in some decen blinds the ones they have there are crappy.. sand chick
Finished the livingroom on Sunday about 9:30pm. Mike had to go back over parts of the "finish" cause it wasn't quite good enough!! What do you expect for a rookie? Went with a "dune" theme of coarse, where once there was nothing but a stark world of white, now has two walls of "sanddune" and above our fireplace/tv built in window shelf, we have kinda Coral Pink and with dark brown on the accents so it didn't look tooo pink! I was very gald to be done with it this weekend! But now there's soo much more to do!! The game room got an Air Hockey table to go with the pool table and dart board! desertskyz
OK so I cheated!. I did "sort of" fix the dog door in wall that is on the outside of the house that was cut through the stucco. Since the dog door entrance is inside a shed on the side of the house (it was there when i bough the house) What I did was stuff if full in insulation, then put the inside portion of the dog door on the outside and shut the door down a locked it. Wala! So I guess you could say I :B rigged it. What?
