Mine are not getting power and i dont wanna take my panels off and find the short. I was just gonna get reflector stickers and put them over the lights if i dont need em thanks for any help. 1320
I think technically its not legal, but it depends on the trailer lenght. Getting stopped? Probably a lot more likely by a chp on the way to dumont then anything else. You could probably drive for years with no lights on it and not get stopped. Id fix em, and add a few, to be visable. Vegas250rr
you could also risk a liability lawsuit if you get into an accident after dark with the trailer... kinda the same thing as if you were switchin lanes and not having a working turn signal and causing an accident. I would get em fixed as soon as you can.

Richard Cheese
i had the same problem as you. my problem was that some of my grounds to the trailer frame were loose. i got underneath, tightened them all up, and presto...they worked its either that or a fuse btw...you can use a fuse on your trailer 7 pin to get the lights to come on to test.... connect the 10 oclock and 12 oclock pins with the fuse, they should come on if everything is working

Richard Cheese
My fuses are good, so ill have to crawl under there and check my ground connections. i dunno about yours, but all my grounds for most everything are in the front, just under the nose of the box, on the drivers side. there are like 4-5 ground wires on each screw, and are held on by wingnuts ( )

I have good fuses, the ground is good, i dont know what else to do, its pissin me off. I think I am goin to have to look under the panels and see if i have a bad wire under there. vegas style
is it all your markers or just some. i know mine are run in series one wire feeds each half of the top markers (back and sides) take a test light and start finding out where you stop getting power. dunefreak
...and have you checked power to each light yet? Start w/ the obvious and simplest first, then go from there.
1BADYFZ
Are these lights the same as the running lights? I have a question on what should i check if my truck running lights dont work at night?Meaning when i hook up the trailer the trailers running lights dont come on but my actual truck running lights work fine. The brake and the blinkers work at night just not the running lights on the trailer. I connected the trailer into another vehicle and thy worked perfect so i know it's the truck. do you guys think it's a fuse and if you know where to find them on dodge ram 1500? I havent looked yet so i am sure i can find a fuse. I checked the connections and the prongs in the power source connection and it all looked fine so i am thinking a fuse is the problem. Do they have 1 specific fuse for the running lights or will 1 fuse run the brake, blinkers and other stuff at night?
dccd45
Just curious.......... did you check the bulbs? Ya i put new bulbs in all of them, i even cut the wire back on all of them and re connected them, they were a little corroded but not enough to keep them from workin ...and have you checked power to each light yet? Start w/ the obvious and simplest first, then go from there. ya i checked each individual one and none have power I am goin to get a light sensor now and trace it down to see where i stop getting power. Brian73
Check your fuses for your truck. I tow with a ford and it has a trailer tow park lamp fuse. Truck lights will work but no trailer lights. Im sure other trucks are similar.
dccd45
Well I found the problem. When the dealer installed the tow package they added a fuse for towing lights. Well they stuffed it under the fuse box. i found it, threw a new 15 amp in it and bam i got marker lights. it could have been worse, thanks for every ones help Edited October 30, 2008 by dccd45
