dunefreak
A few buddies and I headed out to D for a day trip on Saturday. We weren't planning on doing D this Halloween, but decided to hop in the truck and head out just to spectate and say hi to everyone. (no toys) We got there around 1 ish in the afternoon. It was pretty warm out. We headed over to vendor row right away to wait for wsky70 to meet up w/ us. We stoppped at Sandcrazd and saw a ton of DDR peeps all over vendor row. First Joe Duner and vegas style met us over there, then we saw Mark (mdnbb1) and wife, then maxdout, then lvnalolife, then Capt's truck cruisin through.....etc etc. After Woods got there we hit up the south pole for the meet and greet. We barely made it. I had full air pressure in my tires still and that sand was soft by comp. The dmax pulled us through though. The meet and greet was a very good turnout as usual. I got to meet a few new faces (dune demon, jorge and a few of his buddies, BeerMeNow, yfzkyle, and a couple others whose names I can't remember now ) It was great seeing all the familiar DDR peeps from the site. After the south pole I towed sand~snake back to camp due to a clutch issue. I had to parade him through everyone sitting at comp first though. We got him back to camp and then headed over to a few others to say hi. We hit Beatdown Dave's camp, then vendor row for some Hog Heaven pulled pork , then Mario G's camp, then Barefoot and Capt. It's kinda cool knowing ya got friends at so many different camps where you can just pull up and kick it and be welcome. Then we headed over to comp Sat night. The crowd was so-so. It was a pretty good turnout, but I'd say less then year's past. The word was Friday night was going on over there. I bet the weather had something to do w/ it. It started raining throughout the night while we were there. :porn: Brice and camp cruised over to comp w/ the McFlurry on the trailer. There was a stripper pole nearby that the BLM put a stop to real quick. We had enough of the rain around 9:30 and headed back to Joe Duner's and sand~snake's. We were gettin soaked. Then wWe hopped on the road about 10 ish and got home around midnight. All in all it was a great trip. We got to see the holiday bullshit, but didn't really have to deal with it. Thanks again to BaBerrrrt for driving. A DD is always very much appreciated so the rest of us can be stupid drunks and party. It seemed like everywhere we went that day Jill and Charlie were right there in the Ranger. Good times you guys. I always love hangin out w/ you and laughing at rediculous chit. Sucks your "cat" got wet, but that's how Charlie likes it. I'd have to say the Halloween crowd as a whole out at D this year was less than usual, but still a very good turnout for the tough economic times. Great seeing everyone! See you at the poker run next weekend!!! I took some pics. Give me a few and I'll post them up.

Dune Dad
This Halloween was good... The kids were a pain in the AZZ the whole 4 days we were there... WE got in to Dumont at 4am Thursday morning.. We left Big Bear Lake around 8pm was driving down the back side and I lost the breaks on my 34ft Motorhome.. Got it stopped by using the reailer breaks. We stayed on the side of the road for an hour to let the brakes cool off.. It freaked out every one. The rv has 100 gal water 7 people and a 7x16 ft trailer with 5 quads on it... Thursday I spent getting everything up and ready.. SPONGE BOB kicked my AZZ trying to put him on top of the RV...LOL I put him on the quad trailer.. The next day I say that someone poked a hole in him over night... I tryed to fix but no luck.. I went to the South pole by 10:50 am and nobody was there... The rain saturday night at comp hill was awsom.. My kid took my banshee up the hill a couple of times and I went up twice... Sunday"Today" was an ok drive home... Over all The crouds were good... I think the amount of people out this weekend was just right.. I didnt see Mercy Air at all this weekend... Thats very good news.. To tired now.. See ya.. SiCk 350R
Just arrived back home a lil bit ago. For the most part I made the best of the weekend and had a good time. We camped farther out than we usually do, but it was kinda nice. The meet & greet saturday was awesome. I finally got to meet a lot of other fellow DDR members From the meet and greet, I made a ride with some friends to the It had just started to rain on us on the way there. Then on the ride back to camp, I get over a couple dunes and I hear somethin snap on my bike and can no longer shift gears but the bike still had power and was running, BUT it sounded like there was 100 marbles in the case :no_no: I had to get towed back from deep in the dunes. So, looks like im not dunin til i find some money to get it fixed, which isnt goin to be cheap After that I said Fug it, Im dunin the truck . overall got wasted with some friends and partied and made the most of it!! The new vendor out there called "Loose Screws" Is my sister-n-law's father and friend. They will be there on some off weekends and all the holidays. They also have a very good welder/fabricator there who used to be partners with "Monster Rails" a lot of you probably know him. They were parked right to the left of Hog Heaven. for those of you who dont know them or didn't stop by you should check them out. P.S I hate the wet sand!!! randyvw
got to the D about 4:30 friday. started unloading the ghetto buggy and somebody drives up and dumps out my buddy wade and he says he rolled his rail at the backside top of comp. says he's got 4 flats and we need jack/wheels/tow strap/ .....i say wait a minute here, let me go take a look. gimmee all 5 air bottles we have and lets get to work. half hour later we are driving back to camp with it. hell, he coulda kept on duning it for the weekend but had the renegade with him so....why. anyways, nice weather, but wayyy too much dust til it rained sat nite for an hour or two(thank you god). got superdave in the car with his wife and another guy and went out to make a video from inside the car....hope it turns out. started raining and it got kinda hairy out there so we had to call it quits. when the rain turned the sand all to brown and no more tracks visible you start to get vertigo.....clutch quits working in the buggy so i run the rest of the weekend without it(didn't want to stop much after that in case some of you were wondering why i drove in circles occasionaly) then, in the light rain wades grandson eric leads one of those epic rides one end of the dunes to the other, but had to slow down because of the raindrops on the glasses toward the end. hope that kid don't get hurt ridin' like that, but it sure was fun! saturday the dunes weren't too tore up yet, so it was pretty good riding. different story on sunday after the rain as far as accidents. we saw a girl that had fallen down a steep hill from a quad being put on a backboard way out like half way to north pole that looked like she was busted up pretty bad. hope shes ok....helped the rangers find a smooth way out of the dunes. then they went out via north pole. hate to second guess, but i woulda went through comp hill area...much shorter in my opinion. then on sunday the other randy i took with me was sitting at comp and sees another one of those jackasses doing a wheelie up comp with a sandrail and hits a guy riding a quad. scary for a few minutes, but it looks like nobody got hurt tho. i know i'm gonna get some sh*t for this, but for cripes sake...can't you move some weight up front to keep from doing those wheelies so easily. :no_no: a monkey can do a wheelie(many do). seriously, what do you see when your front tires are 10 feet off the ground?...ok, off my soapbox and packing up...left around 4;00on sunday. surprised at how many peeps showed up. i didn't think there would be anywhere near that many peeps out there. btw...nice to see a lot of you at the meet n greet on sat....i'm kind of an introvert and it's hard for me to stick my hand out and meet new people, but i'm glad i came outa my shell for a few minutes. oh yeah.....thanks to that new vendor...loose screws for the parts and that ron guy does good work too. i think he's the spokesperson for monster rails. barefoot bob
that fabricator at loose screws is ron he was co owner of monster rails his ddr name is monster man http://www.dumontduneriders.com/invision/i...?showtopic=5534 i missed the the meet and greet capts fault . had a blast , not that full this weekend. enough to have some traffic jams however lol me and x5s trails crossed each other ( sorry gary i was hoping youd fall in and run with us to the pole ) joe duner took us on a nice family run friday. felt rusty thurs and friday. then sat when it started raining i lost a bolt on my lightbar had to wait for faster daddy to get me a bolt from loose screws. i was hiding under my rail so i wouldnt melt. after that i guess i woke up. and went beserk. had a really good run in the rain to the pole. on the way back it was almost dark i wanted to do some jumps. i took the flats over to the jumps . i never have ran so fast down the back stretch 4th gear bouncing off the rev limiter. that is about 130 mph !!!! in the friggen rain, goggles all wet ,peeking between the rain drops and just hammered it !! man i felt alive !! got to the jumps and went off again there was about 5 rails out there and we must of pumped them up cause we were all getting busy with it. what a blast. got back to camp and we had a mini comp hill going on. a freind of mine got a new ltr and asked capt kllm to ride it of course he has his daughter get on that crazy azz raptor of his and race him up the little hill. it was on after that. capts daughter was smoking everybody. they sent a banshee with the race pipes over with a 12 year old on it. he got smoked. 11 year old girl took all comers and smashed them. we broke every camp rule we had as far as protocall for riding in camp. it was pouring down rain we hid under an awning and watched the show. shame on us but we enjoyed it. pete and the guys rolled in and there was still kaos going on out there :no_no: rain made everybody crazy. sunday after the morning wind we got a second run in and it was a good run ( till capt blew a radiator seam) the new work on the motor really woke up his car awsom time good freinds good fun !!! :sophie: Edited November 3, 2008 by barefoot bob

Suzuki450Chick
Was told a truck and a person on a quad collided ? (2nd hand info) havent heard anything else about it ^^ Thats what I heard also. I have a TON of pictures but I am too lazy to upload it. I have it under my albums on my myspace. Comp hill was a NIGHTMARE!!! I was trying to race people but because of the whoops were so bad, I had to turn around half way. I was bouncing all over the place. However, the part that everyone was racing at that was on the front by the camps was a awesome place. No whoops and it was smooth. The rain wasn't too bad besides the fact that it was hard to follow some friends at night time. Plus I was soaked in wet riding so I was hoping that I wouldn't get sick. Sunday morning we went over to little dumont to do some jumping and stopped by the mining area since some friends wanted to see it. Other than that it was a pretty good weekend at Dumont. Not as many people compared to 2 years ago but atleast a decent amount. Sucks I have to work today. I'm sore!!
britincali
We had a bitchin weeked, both bikes ran t*ts and the only thing to brake was a headgasket on the nitrous one.
