On
Feb
24-26th,
Motocross
superstar
and
X
Games
Gold
medalist,
Ronnie
Renner,
made
a
stop
at
Dumont
Dunes
as
part
of
the
2011
Red
Bull
Ronnie
Renner
Freeride
tour.
Renner
and
other
top
riders,
such
as
Tommy
Clowers,
Tom
Parsons,
Miles
Richmond,
Steve
Haughelstine,
Whacker,
and
Brian
Brimhall,
hit
the
dunes
scouting
out
places
to
go
big.
These
guys
quickly
attracted
a
crowd
of
spectators
as
they
cleared
doubles
and
step-ups
formed
by
the
dunes
we
ride
on.
It
was
great
to
see
such
talent
out
at
our
own
playground.
Throughout
the
whole
weekend
Renner
and
the
whole
Red
Bull
crew
made
us
feel
welcome
and
part
of
the
group.
That's
what
the
Freeride
Tour
is
all
about.
It's
a
chance
for
fans
and
everyday
riders
like
us
to
come
out
and
join
in
on
the
fun.
Redbull
had
a
very
inviting
camp
set
up
complete
with
large
tents
and
sofas,
a
big
fire
pit
with
plenty
of
chairs,
music,
big
TV's
and
even
tables
set
up
for
those
who
started
their
own
games
of
beer
pong.
The
weather
forecast
kept
many
away,
but
the
crowd
in
camp
was
just
big
enough
for
a
good
party
at
night
yet
small
enough
to
get
to
know
everyone.
And
wouldn't
you
know,
the
weather
held
up
after
all.
There
was
some
wind
on
Friday
and
some
small
showers
early
Sat
morning,
but
the
clouds
began
to
split
and
the
sun
came
out.
Temperatures
were
in
the
upper
50's/
low
60's
and
the
sand
dried
right
out.
It
ended
up
being
a
gorgeous
weekend
out
there
to
ride.
Between
riding
around
the
dunes
with
these
guys
and
the
nighttime
campfire
fun,
it
was
a
memorable
weekend
to
say
the
least.
